This Deepavali turned out to be extra special for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fans with the release of the first look poster of his upcoming film Ruler. Earlier, it was said that one of the highlights of the film will be Balayya’s look. He will be appearing in a stylish look which has his fans excited.

From the poster, we can make out that the star has shed a few kilos of weight for the film and that it will be a complete treat for his fans. Sources in the know say that the actor was on a strict diet and workout regimen for the new avatar in Ruler.

The poster also revealed that the film would be hitting the screens on December 20.  Initially, the makers were eyeing to release for Sankranthi 2020 release, but biggies like Rajinikanth's Darbar,  Mahesh Babu's Sarileru Neekevvaru and Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapuramlo have already confirmed Sankranthi 2020 release. So they had to prepone the release date to December 2019.

Balayya will be playing dual roles in Ruler and we hear that while one will be that of a cop, the other will be that of a politician. K S Ravikumar is directing the film with the story penned by Paruchuri Murali and the rest of the technical crew will be Chirantan Bhatt for music and Ram Prasad for cinematography. Ruler is being produced by C Kalyan under his banner Happy Movies. According to reports about the star cast, we hear that Bhumika Chawla has been roped in for an important role.

Balakrishna’s last release was the biopic on his late father, the legendary actor and politician, NT Rama Rao. It was released in two parts as – NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu – highlighting both his film and political career. The NTR biopic was helmed by J Krish and produced jointly N Balakrishna along with Vishnu Induri and Sai Korrapati. It had an impressive star cast with Vidya Balan, Mohan Babu, Sumanth, Keerthy Suresh, Rana Daggubati and others. MM Keeravani composed music for this venture with Gnana Shekar V.S wielding the camera and Arram Ramakrishna editing it.
