The trailer of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion, was leaked online, just hours before its official launch on Thursday.

The trailer of the film's Malayalam version was leaked on social media, much to the surprise of the makers, who plan to take legal action.

The two minute 20 seconds trailer was originally planned to be launched online on Thursday evening.

Following the leak, the trailer of the film's Tamil, Hindi and Telugu versions were also officially released online.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Rajamouli said, “Piracy is different, and a leak is different. This particular leak, we’re still trying to figure out why it happened. It is very irritating, but we can’t blame anyone before we know everything about it.”

Rajamouli also mentions a 'bug in Facebook', but doesn't elaborate.

“It (the trailer) is online now. We launched it. We were supposed to launch it at 5pm. However, it's good news for the fans,” he adds.

Reports note that the leaked trailer was being treated as a fan-made video, as it lacked a release date and credits.

The trailer of the film's Telugu version is expected to be screened across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, in around 250-300 screens.

Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, the film is due for release on April 28.
