If you use your smartphone predominantly to play games, this should come as great news. Asus has just released a new smartphone dedicated to playing video games with a bespoke main processor and graphic processor. Its brand Republic of Game, ROG will be lent to this phone called ROG Phone.

Asus used the special event, ‘For Those Who Dare’, held ahead of Computex 2018 to announce this. While there are many firsts credited to this device, the most significant one is the 3D vapour-chamber cooling system. Asus also claims that this phone out-scored some of the high-end phones, Samsung Galaxy S9+, Apple iPhone X and Xiaomi BlackShark and Razer Phone, the last two being competing devices in the gaming space.

Coming to the basic specifications of the ROG Phone; the display size is 6 inches and the screen resolution a healthy full HD+ 1080x2160 pixels and the Gaming UI acts as the skin. The contrast ratio is 10000:1. Asus has got a special CPU built by Qualcomm, on its Snapdragon 845SoC platform, to facilitate gaming and offering a stealthy clocking speed of 2.96GHz, supported by the Adreno 630 GPU that is also duly optimized for gaming.

With 8GB RAM to add to these solid specs, the ROG Phone will definitely woo the gaming enthusiasts. The internal storage is also good at 512GB. To round off the specs, there is a 12MP shooter in the rear and an 8MP front sensor for selfies. Connectivity options are all available and Asus claims this gaming phone will be fitted with a 4000mAh battery that will last a whole of 7 hours of game-playing uninterrupted.

Asus is also releasing a dedicated headset that can be coupled with the ROG Phone or any other smartphone using the regular C-ports. In addition, there are two programmable ultrasonic AirTriggers and advanced force-feedback haptics and there is also the option to buy TwinView Dock, which converts the phone into a dual-screen device in the handheld mode. Many other features are specially provided to make the gaming experience on the ROG Phone very immersive.

With all these details the most relevant ones are still missing; the price and also when and if Asus would bring this phone to the Indian market. But it is definitely expected to come to India soon.
