The shooting of Magamuni, which is directed by Shanthakumar of Mouna Guru fame, has been wrapped up. Confirming this, the film’s hero Arya wrote on his social media page, “It’s a wrap for #Magamuni Beautiful beautiful Working experience with the Master story Teller #Santhakumar sir Hope I have done justice to what you have conceived in ur head for 7 long years Thank you @kegvraja @StudioGreen2 for this great opportunity.”

Silverscreen.in has reported the film’s official spokesperson as confirming, “The movie has wrapped up shooting and the post-production works are currently on. Further information regarding the release date and other details will be revealed only after a while.”

Magamuni is a crime thriller film that has Arya and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles with Induja roped in to play the other heroine. The star cast also comprises Kaali Venkat, Jayaprakash and Aruldoss in supporting roles. According to reports, Arya will be playing the son of a politician in this flick.

The film’s technical crew include S. Thaman for music with lyrics by Viveka, V. J. Sabu Joseph for editing and Dudley for cinematography. The film has been shot in various locations across Chennai, Kancheepuram and Erode

Besides Magamuni, Arya also has Kaappaan, directed by KV Anand, needing his attention. Kaappaan, which will be Suriya’s 37th film, has the veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal in a pivotal role besides Arya. Reports are that Mohanlal plays Arya’s father in the film. On Suriya’s role in Kaappaan we hear that he will be seen as the bodyguard for Mohanlal and Arya.

Meanwhile, Newlyweds Arya and Sayyeshaa, who had previously worked together in Ghajinikanth, are set to reunite for upcoming children’s comedy Teddy, which will be directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan of Miruthan and Tik Tik Tik fame.  To be bankrolled by Studio Green, the project marks the first collaboration of Arya and Shakti.

There is also a buzz that Arya is said to have bagged another project with the Lyca Productions which is to be directed by Muthaiah, popular for his rural-based projects such as Komban and Marudhu.
