It’s been a busy year for Arvind Swami, who got to work on multiple projects. He began the year with the release of Bogan, in which he shared screen space with Jayam Ravi again after Thani Oruvan. The film did lukewarm business at the box-office but Arvind’s performance was widely appreciated.

Since the release of Bogan, he has completed shooting for Sathuranga Vettai 2, Bhaskar Oru Rascal, the Tamil remake of Malayalam film Bhaskar The Rascal, Vanangamudi and Naragasooran. On Saturday, in a Twitter chat with his fans, he revealed that he might direct in 2018 if everything falls in place as planned.

Answering a fan who asked if he has plans to don the directorial hat, Arvind said it might hopefully happen in 2018. He also said people can expect the unexpected from him in his directorial avatar.

Talking about his next film with Mani Ratnam, a multi-starrer which will also star Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Fahadh Faasil, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh,; he said that he’s really looking forward to join hands with everyone. Arvind also clarified that his immediate focus is on doing more Tamil project which he will ensure get dubbed in Telugu. His last Telugu outing was last year’s Dhruva, a remake of Thani Oruvan.

Of all the projects in his kitty, Arvind is most excited about Naragasooran, in which he has joined hands with young filmmakers Karthick Naren. In October, Arvind tweeted: “Just finished my first shot for Naragasooran. Excited to work with such a young and unique talent, Karthick Naren. Watch out for him people.”

Tipped to be a supernatural thriller, the film is said to be the story of a fallen demon, going by the first poster of the film which was released not long ago. The film also stars Shriya Saran and Aathmika, who was recently seen in the hit Tamil film Meesaya Murukku.

The project started rolling from September 15 in Ooty, and has been predominantly shot inside a house. It’s tipped to be wrapped up in flat 45 days. Aathmika is said to be paired with Sundeep in the film. Apparently, Sundeep’s role was originally supposed to have been played by Naga Chaitanya, who backed out in the last minute due to reasons yet unknown. The film is a multilingual project and will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Ron Yohaan is composing the music.
