Kamal Hassan, legendary actor and film-maker turned 60 on Friday and the whole nation honoured a man who has inspired generations of people with his passion for cinema.
All the media websites came out with their own top 10 list commemorating the actor, whether it was his top 10 movies or his top 10 avatars, the internet was full of activity celebrating his legacy.
Fans from all walks of life took to social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook to showcase their love for the actor.
But a conceptual, Artist Shreethar Ap showed his fondness for the actor/filmmaker in his own unique way by presenting him with a painting based on the concept of how great painters would have portrayed Kamal Haasan. He calls the painting “Around The World Over 1000 Years” which portrayed the actor/filmmaker in high light.
The painting which measures up to be 8 foot 5 inches depicts the actor in his most versatile ways. The artist who is an avid Kamal fan has been gifting the actor “out of the box” pictures for quite some years now.
Last year, Kamal was gifted a painting where it had a depiction of him in different portrayals as a teacher and the students in a classroom.
Shreethar Ap sought Kamal Hassan’s blessings this year and gifted this painting a day before his birthday.
When asked about the painting, Shreethar said “Everyone knows that Kamal Hassan is a legend”
“I thought of bringing in his different versions of various historical painters who could have painted him if they were alive right now” added an excited and happy Shreethar.
Kamal Hassan reciprocated the act of the artist by changing his Facebook cover photo to the painting and released a video thanking the media, friends and fans who had wished him on his birthday.
