Thirty-two-year-old Harish Kumar from Bengaluru, an army man posted in Assam, poisoned his two daughters to death before taking his own life.

The incident came to light on Wednesday morning, when Harish's wife knocked on the bedroom room, only to find it was locked from inside. When her persistent calls bore no results, she reportedly peeped into the room to find Harish hanging from the ceiling.

When the door was opened with the help of neighbours, their two minor daughters- Rajitha (6) and Krutika (4) were found lying on the bed.

According to media reports, Harish, who lives in Hennur, made the children drink rose water mixed with poison, before hanging himself.

“None is responsible for our deaths. Owing to some family-related issues, I am killing my daughters and committing suicide," reads the suicide note recovered from the room, that is written in Kannada.

Reports say that Harish had joined the army in 2016 and was posted in Assam. He had come to Bengaluru on leave on July 17 and was to report back on duty on August 5. Reports indicate that Harish was upset over domestic and financial issues and that might have driven him to take the extreme step.

On  Monday night, Harish reportedly went to his room along with the daughters and closed the door behind them. His wife, who thought that Harish wanted to spend some time with the daughters, then slept in another room.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
