Tollywood flick Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey, was one of the biggest hits last year. Made on a low budget, the film reached the 50-crore club and its remake rights were lapped up for a huge price.

While its Tamil remake, titled Varma, is currently being directed by Bala with Vikram’s son Dhruv making his debut as an actor, the Hindi remake is expected to go on the floors later this year.

Sandeep Vanga, who directed the original, will be wielding the megaphone for the Hindi version as well. While there are various reports about the hero who will play the lead role in the Hindi remake, we hear that the director is yet to make his pick. Rumour has it that Arjun Kapoor and Padmaavat star Shahid Kapoor are in talks to play the lead role in the film, but the director is yet to finalise this.

Meanwhile, rumours have surfaced that Sandeep Vanga met Tollywood star Mahesh Babu with a story and has impressed him. Reports indicate that the star wanted the full script before giving his go ahead and the director is busy with it.

Sandeep has finally come up with an interesting clarification. “Do not believe in gossip mongers. When the time is right I will tell it very much in open and clear about my next film,” he posted on his Facebook page.

Mahesh Babu is currently busy with the political thriller Bharath Ane Nenu in which he plays the Chief Minister. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film has Kiara Advani playing the female lead. The film’s shooting has reached the final stages and it is expected to hit the silver screens on April 27.

Soon after wrapping up this film, Mahesh Babu will be moving on to the Vamsi Paidapally directorial which will be the star’s landmark 25th film.
