Nayanthara, one of Tamil cinema’s most successful heroines currently, is on a high as far as her career goes. With three back-to-back blockbusters, Nayanthara is often seen as a superstar, given her popularity among the masses.
Currently, the star is acting in an untitled project directed by debutant Gopi Nainar, which is being bankrolled by Kotapadi J Rajesh under the banner of KJR Studios.
In the film, Nayanthara plays a district collector in a story dealing with water scarcity.
“Water scarcity is the major problem faced by our people in these days. Based on that I have stepped in to this film. As soon as Nayanthara heard the story, she has agreed to be a part of this films” says director Gopi.
The makers have recently completed the first schedule of shooting in Chennai and its outskirts. The untitled film also features Vignesh and Ramesh, the two children who gained fame with “Kaaka Muttai” as well as Sunnu Lakshmi and Raams.
The project was offered to Nayanthara sometime last year, but then the actor was not sure if she was ready to carry a full-length film. However, following the phenomenal success of “Thani Oruvan”, “Maya” and “Naanum Rowdydhaan”, she’s willing to experiment and take the risk.
