For the first time, Oscar winning music director AR Rahman is teaming up with the ‘mega star’ of Tollywood Chiranjeevi and this has created a huge expectation for the period drama Sye Raa, which is touted to be a biopic on the freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.

While there are reports that the film’s shooting would commence during the month of October, we hear that the groundwork for it is going on in full throttle.

Sources in the know say that AR Rahman is currently busy holding discussions with the Sye Raa team regarding music composition.

It is said that he has begun composing the soundtrack and is giving his complete attention to this magnum opus. Being Chiranjeevi’s 151st film, the filmmakers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it pleases the star’s fans entirely.

To be directed by Surendhar Reddy, the film’s story has been penned by Paruchuri Brothers. The film is based on the book Life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. While the director is in-charge of the screenplay, the dialogues for the film have been penned by Sai Madhav Burra.

Ram Charan Teja will be bankrolling Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy under his banner Konidela Production Company and has earmarked a huge budget of Rs. 200 crore for it.

Being a multi-lingual film, the makers have roped in top stars Bollywood, Sandalwood and Kollywood as well.

The star cast includes Nayanthara and Pragya Jaiswal as the female leads with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan as Uyyalawada Peddamalla Reddy. The supporting cast includes Jagapathi Babu, Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi, Nassar, Mukesh Rishi, Raghu Babu, Subbaraju, Ravi Kishan, Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao, Jayaprakash and Raghu Karumanchi.

With the pre-production going on and shooting likely to commence next month, Sye Raa is expected to grace the theatres during summer 2018.
