The News Minute | February 19, 2015 | 8:40 am IST Farmers from the villages in the area for the proposed capital of AP have decided to take their struggle to Delhi and take the help of social activist Anna Hazare. In a move to gain more national attention, the farmers plan to protest in Delhi at Jantar Mantar against the amendments to the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. Taking strong objections against the Ordinance to amend the Land Acquisition Act (2013) set to be brought in by the Modi government, Anna Hazare, when earlier contacted, stated to The News Minute, "It was expected that the new government will act pro-farmers and provide them some relief. However, this ordinance adequately clarifies that this government is anti-farmer and wants to promote crony capitalism at the cost of farmers and their land." The CRDA is the supreme authority from the ground level to the conceptualization and administration of the capital region. It is also responsible for the land pooling scheme and everything related to the development of the capital region. The bill also gives CRDA the authority to acquire, sell, transfer or grant license for the purpose of development of the land. The bill also allows the state government to constitute the CRDA with chief minister Chandrababu Naidu as chairman. Tweet Follow @thenewsminute
