The actor is now all set to star in a film based on Lord Ayyappan. This prestigious project will be directed by cinematographer – director Santosh Sivan and bankrolled by Gokulam Gopalan under his banner Sree Gokulam Films.

The project is touted to be a multi lingual, set for release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. To be scripted by Prashanth, the film is currently in the pre-production mode. Reports are that this film will go on the floors in August this year. On the music director to be roped in, sources say that it could be the Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman.

Santosh Sivan is currently busy with Jack n Jill, which is touted to be a thriller. The film’s star cast includes Soubin Shahir, Nedumudi Venu, Aju Varghese, Soubin Shahir, Basil Joseph, Ramesh Pisharody and Suraj Venjaramoodu in supporting roles. Sources in the know say that Jack n Jill will be a bilingual releasing in Malayalam and Tamil. The film is bankrolled by the Dubai based company, Lensman Studios. Its technical crew comprises debut music director Ram Surendar with BK Harinarayanan penning the lyrics. Santosh Sivan is cranking the camera for this venture with Renjith roped in for editing.

The director is wielding the megaphone after five long years and this is the first time he is directing a thriller in his long career. His last outing as director was with Inam, set during the civil war in Sri Lanka. The film was about a group of teenagers in an orphanage.
