The makers of megastar Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated 150th film, after weeks of speculation, have finally zeroed in on Anushka Shetty as the film’s leading lady. Although she has matched steps with Chiranjeevi in an item number in Stalin, this will be the first time the duo will be seen in leading roles together. As the makers plan to commence regular shooting from June/July, Anushka is busy allocating dates as she will be required to juggle between multiple projects.
Even though Anushka has given her verbal consent to the project, she’s yet to sign the dotted line, according to a source from the film’s camp. The reason being, her packed schedule for the next few months as she already has two Telugu projects including Baahubali 2 and Baghmati, which she signed recently. Anushka is also the frontrunner for Ajith’s next project. It’s also believed that she’s waiting to get a nod from Rajamouli before she can officially be part of both projects featuring Chiranjeevi and Ajith.
She still has nearly two months of shooting left on Baahubali 2, and she also has to start shooting for Baghmati, which she had signed long back but had to be put on the backburner since she was busy with Baahubali part 1.
