Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has films such as Dev D, Black Friday and Gangs of Wasseypur to his credit, has come on board to present the Hindi version of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Game Over starring Taapsee Pannu. It will be directed by Ashwin Saravanan and produced by S Sashikanth. Ashwin Saravanan had previously directed Nayanthara's Maya and also directed Iravaakaalam starring SJ Suryah and Wamiqa Gabbi.

The film, which is gearing up for release soon, has Taapsee portraying a woman who is in a wheelchair. Game Over is jointly produced by Y Not Studios and Reliance Entertainment.

On having Anurag Kashyap on board to present the Hindi version, producer Sashikanth said in a statement, “We always knew that Game Over had content with the potential to create a strong universal appeal, because it is an experience based movie that is very language neutral, and deals with very human emotions. And when we thought about extending this experience to a wider audience, we decided to make this in Hindi as well, and Anurag Kashyap absolutely had to be the person to mentor this project in Hindi.”

Anurag, who has already seen the film, is excited about presenting the film in Hindi. “I am very kicked about presenting this game-changing film in Hindi. This film proves yet again that the quality of filmmaking from the south is just outstanding and it’s great to see how Ashwin Saravanan has pushed the boundaries and has made a genre-bending film, something that we all have never seen before.”

The film, which will have music by Ron Yohann, has been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu as well. Having shifted her base to Bollywood post Pink, Taapsee has been very choosy about her southern projects. She was last seen in Telugu film Neevevaro, a remake of Tamil film Adhe Kangal
