Debut director Nahas Hidayath will be wielding the megaphone for a campus film that will have Antony Varghese in the lead role. The film will be produced by O Thomas Panicker under his banner Opus Penta.

Anil Narayanan has scripted the film. Other than Antony Varghese, the cast also includes Shine Tom Chacko, Renji Panicker, and Saiju Kurup. The heroine for this project is yet to be finalised and we hear that the makers are looking for a fresh face to play the female lead.

Sudeep Elamon will be in charge of the camera work while Jakes Bejoy will set the music. Noufal Abdullah will be doing the edits and Sameera Saneesh has been roped in as the costume designer. The groundwork of this untitled film is already on and we hear that the shooting will commence in February next year.

Antony Varghese’s next film in the pipeline is titled Aanaparambile World Cup. Wielding the megaphone for this venture is Nikhil Premraj, who has scripted it as well. The director has earlier said that the film will be all about football, love and fantasy in the right mixture.

Apparently, Antony Varghese will be playing a football coach for a group of kids. The shooting of Aanaparambile World Cup began in Malappuram and is progressing steadily. It is expected to hit the marquee later this year or early next. Antony Varghese has so far acted in three films and Aanaparambile World Cup will be his fourth film in the Malayalam film industry.

His last film release, Jallikattu, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, premiered at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival. The film that released in October has been scripted by S Hareesh and R Jayakumar. It shows the life in a village where a buffalo goes loose and everyone is chasing it, as comparisons are made on man’s similarity to beast.
