Mollywood will soon get its very own super hero! Yes, Anson Paul will be playing the role in his upcoming film The Gambler. The actor was seen playing Mammootty’s brother in Abrahaminte Santhathikal and also has worked in films such as Su...Su...Sudhi Vatmeekam and Solo in which he appeared in supporting roles. The Gambler will be directed by Tom Emmatty of Oru Mexican Aparatha fame.

On the film, Anson Paul has been quoted by the New indian express as saying, “I can’t wait to start working in it. I’ve been a fan of some of the popular western superheroes since my childhood so something like this happening in Malayalam cinema is a cause for excitement. And as with all the roles I’ve done so far, I expect to do something different for this one too.”

Tom Emmatty said, “Considering the complexity of a project like this, we are planning everything systematically with storyboards and everything. There will be some fantasy elements involved. The scripting is almost done. Pre-production work is currently underway. The rest of the details will be revealed soon.”

The director also made it clear that the superhero character in The Gambler will be completely new and have no connection with the existing super hero characters existing in India or elsewhere. The director added that the film is being made as a family entertainer so that an entire family can enjoy and there will be some important and informative messages for children.

The prep work for this project has been on for several months now and the shooting will begin early next year. The Gambler will hit the marquee in 2019 but the date has not been revealed yet.
