A case has been filed against actor ‘Power Star’ Srinivasan at the New Washermanpet police station for allegedly taking Rs. 4.16 lakh from a man by promising him a role in movies, and not following through with it.

The complainant, Dayanidhi, (24) claimed that Srinivasan had taken Rs. 4.16 lakh from him in 2015 promising him a break in the film industry and it has been two years but he was not given any roles by the actor nor was his money was returned. 

Moreover, the actor has been avoiding him and his attempts to meet the actor were in vain, reported The Times of India.

In the complaint filed by Dayanidhi, he stated that the police should conduct an investigation in this matter and make sure that he receives the money from the actor.

In 2013, about four cases were filed against the actor for cheatin people for more than Rs. 7 crore. In March, he was arrested by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for cheating a Delhi-based businessman. A case was registered by Delhi police in 2010 after a businessman, Dileep Pathani alleged that Srinivasan had promised to get him a loan of Rs. 1000 crore and he had taken a commission of Rs. 10 crore for the same. He was arrested in 2013 then detained to Tihar jail and came out on bail after two months. He was asked to settle the dues in a given time but he did not do it.

In 2012 also, a complaint was filed against him by a businessman in Andhra Pradesh alleging that Srinivasan had promised to get him a loan of Rs. 20 crore by giving him a commission of Rs. 50 lakh.

In April 2016, Power Star Srinivasan joined the BJP in the presence of now Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan.
