The Chennai Press Club on Wednesday received an anonymous letter which claimed to represent the ISIS threatening RSS members in Tamil Nadu. The letter which had the words ‘ISIS’ scribbled on it, threatened to kill ten Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS) members apart from planning to carry out serial bomb blasts by April 24 similar to the 1998 Kovai blasts. The letters were sent to the office of the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu and the Chennai Press Club. Printed in bold with red and orange letters, the letter said that  50 of the most important persons who were affiliated to the RSS had been identified and at least 10 of them would be shot. In February, 1998 Coimbatore witnessed bombings in which a total of 58 people were killed and over 200 were  injured. The bombings itself were said to be in retaliation to previous riots between Hindu and Muslim fundamentalist organisations. Both the letters were addressed to 'All media and DGP Law and Order Intelligence'. The police have seized the letters and are currently investigating.
