Music Director Anirudh made his debut in the Telugu film industry with the Pawan Kalyan starrer Agnyathavaasi and is now busy scoring music for Nani’s upcoming film Jersey. The first single from the album is already out and has garnered the attention of the film buffs.
Following this, there are reports that Anirudh will be composing tunes for Nani’s next film as well. Reports are that director Vikram Kumar is keen on working with Anirudh after Nani’s suggestion that they have him onboard.
Jersey is being bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and helmed by director Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film will have Anirudh composing the tunes, Navin Nooli in charge of the editing and Sanu Varghese cranking the camera.
Jersey has Nani and Shraddha Srinath playing the lead pair with Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in supporting roles.
The first look poster of Jersey, released in September last year, made it clear that it is a film about cricket. The jersey hanging in a cupboard along with the cricket gear around it did go viral among the netizens.
In fact, Nani had expressed his desire to star in a sports-based film on the lines of the Aamir Khan starrer Dangal and looks like his wish is coming true with Jersey. Reports are that Nani plays a 36-year-old with a wife and child but his passion for cricket makes him want to make it to the Indian cricket team.
Jersey is currently in the post-production mode with plans on to release it on April 19. With this film nearing completion, Nani will soon move over to the sets of the Vikram Kumar directorial, we hear.
With Anirudh bagging two consecutive Nani starrers, we can expect him to rock Tollywood as well.
