Antony Varghese, who made his debut with Angamaly Diaries, has struck gold once again at the box office with his second outing, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, getting a good response on the opening day.

The film hit the silver screens on March 31 and is doing well at the box office, thanks to the long weekend. Directed by Tinu Pappachan, the film is bankrolled by Angamaly Diaries director-writer duo, Lijo Jose Pellissery and Chemban Vinod Jose, and director B Unnikrishnan. Apart from Antony Varghese, the film’s star cast includes Chemban Vinod Jose, Vinayakan, Sinoj Varghese, Tito Wilson, and Lijo Jose Pellissery. According to box office reports, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil has collected Rs 1.5 crore on the day of its release in Kerala and the collections are soaring.

Deepak Alexander has composed the background score for this flick while Jakes Bejoy has scored music for the soundtrack. Gireesh Gangadharan is the cinematographer and Shabeer Mohammed had done the editing. The other technical crew include Stephy Xavior for costume designing, Gokul Das in charge of the art department and Ronex Xavier for make-up.

It may be mentioned here that the trailer of the film, which was released on March 18, went on to garner a huge response and got 1 million views. On the trailer release, several top Bollywood stars took to Twitter to share it online and wish the team success. Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, while sharing the YouTube link of the trailer, wrote that it looks “terrific.”

Actor Suneil Shetty wrote: “The best thing about cinema is that language has never been a barrier to watch one! And this trailer has definitely caught my attention Antony! Looking forward to the release! The very best @VarghesePepe.”

Meanwhile, Antony Varghese is rumoured to have landed a pivotal role in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, featuring an ensemble cast including Arvind Samy, Jyothika, Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rajesh, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Mansoor Ali Khan and Thiagarajan. Mani Ratnam was apparently impressed with his work in Angamaly Diaries, which introduced 85 newcomers.
