A 22-year-old engineering student in Vijaywada was found hanging in his room late on Saturday night.

Puvvala Prem Prasad is a fourth-year student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Reportedly in Nova Engineering College. No suicide note was found.

Hindustan Times reported Pavan Prasad, Prem’s brother expressed shock as he said that he found Prem to be jovial when he spoke to him just two days prior to his death.

“We don’t know what had happened in college or the hostel. We all are in a shock. He was a very hard working boy who aimed for a huge success in life,” he said.

According to police, he took this extreme step as he failed to clear several subjects in the second and third year of college.

Investigation is under progress based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s brother.

Kondapalli circle-inspector D. Chavan said Prem did not attend college regularly for the last three years. Prasad belongs to Valluru village in Kapileswarapuram mandal of East Godavari district.

This comes after the deaths of three students of a private Naturopathy college who committed suicide in Tamil Nadu on Saturday. The students had blamed the college administration in the suicide note for not providing proper education in spite of charging an exorbitant fee.
