Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released the Annual Calendar for Recruitment 2021-22 on June 18, to fill 10,143 vacant job posts in various government departments between July 2021 and March 2022. The calendar would help unemployed people know the exact month of the job notification release, and the number of vacant posts, CM Jagan said. The calendar is meant to streamline the recruitment process, which was earlier done in an ad-hoc manner without definitive timelines, a government order said.

Based on data of direct recruitment vacancies, the state Finance Department has identified the number of available posts that need to be filled on a regular, contractual basis and included these in the calendar. The recruitment will be based on the marks obtained in a written test conducted by the government, without any interview process. The state government has authorised the concerned recruiting agencies like Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB), to carry out the department and post-wise recruitment for a total of 10,143 posts (including 1,238 backlog vacancies) with respect to a month-wise calendar. All departments listed in the calendar — including health, revenue, tribal welfare and higher education — have been ordered to fill the vacancies.

The recruitment will be conducted on a monthly basis, starting from the Backlog Vacancies (STs, SCs, Differently Abled) in July, Group I and Group II posts in August, police department vacancies in September, and health department posts (including doctors, assistant professors nurses and paramedical staff) between October and December. Recruitments in higher education (for lecturer posts in degree colleges and assistant professors in universities) will take place in January and February 2022.

CM Jagan said that transparency will be maintained throughout the recruitment process so that no form of discriminatory practices or corruption can take place. He also claimed that in the last two years, the YSRCP government has provided over 6 lakh jobs, of which 1,84,264 were created on a regular basis, 3,99,791 were outsourced and 19,701 were on a contract basis.
