In a shocking incident, a devotee of the Venkateswara Temple atop Tirumala allegedly found a poisonous black centipede in the famous Tirupati laddu on Sunday.

Times of India reported:

Gonnabatthula Devi Prasad and his friend Trinadh, resident of Ramapuram Colony of Parvatipuram town, went to Tirupati on Saturday for darshan. They purchased four laddus for Rs 300. Trinadh discovered the centipede inside the sweet on Sunday.

State endowments minister P Manikyala Rao told TOI that “Some people of the temple might have intentionally placed the creature there. Anyhow, I will take a note on the issue. If it is proved, we will take serious action as the laddu and the temple is of global interest."

This is not the first such incident as items like iron pins, key chains and even gutka packets have been previously found in the laddus. The TTD is yet to respond to the incident.
