The Sriram Raghavan directorial Andhadhun turned out to be a massive hit in Bollywood following which there were speculations that it will be remade in Telugu. According to reports surfacing now, Sudhakar Reddy, father of actor Nithin, has bagged the Telugu remake rights. 

This has given rise to the rumours that Nithin may be playing the lead role in the remake. Also, reports are that Harish Shankar and Ramesh Varma are in the fray to wield the megaphone. But there is no official confirmation on this yet. Sources close to the production house say that they are not in a hurry to go ahead with the remake as other details have to be worked out meticulously. An announcement regarding the commencement of the remake will be made at the right time, we hear.

Meanwhile, according to a Times of India report, actor Thiyagarajan has acquired the remake rights and the film will be made in Tamil with his son and actor Prashant. There are also reports that the Tamil remake would be helmed by Gautham Menon. 

The IMDB had rated Sriram Raghavan’s thriller Andhadhun, starring Ayushmann Khurana, as the most popular film according to user ratings for the year 2018. This Bollywood flick also starred Tabu and Radhika Apte as the female leads. It hit the marquee on October 5 last year worldwide and has been an instant hit among the film buffs. 

Andhadhun’s story is about a pianist who gets entangled in the murder of an ex-actor, which forms its crux. Scripted by Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti, Yogesh Chandekar and Hemanth Rao, the film has been directed by Sriram Raghavan. The technical crew of the film included editor Surti, cinematographer K. U. Mohanan, music directors Amit Trivedi, Raftaar and Girish Nakod and lyricist Jaideep Sahni. The film was bankrolled under the banners Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures on a budget of Rs. 32 crore and went on to collect Rs. 111 crore at the box office. Andhadhun was not only a commercial success but also won critical acclaim from the people in the trade.
