2019 has just begun and even as people are just emerging from the Deepveer and Nickyanka wedding hangover, another celebrity couple in town has already announced their engagement on social media. Posting a picture on Instagram on Tuesday, actor Amy Jackson announced her engagement to British businessman George Panayiotou, flaunting a huge diamond ring.

Posting a romantic picture of her fiancé kissing her on the cheek, with a rainbow adorned waterfall in the background as they vacation in Zambia, Amy wrote, “1st January 2019 – The start of our new adventure in life. I love you. Thank you for making me the happiest girl in the world.”

Amy and George began dating in 2015. Even though there were rumours of the couple being together, Amy denied them all and had kept the relationship under wraps for quite some time. The actor used to post pictures of the couple on social media but was careful enough not to reveal her fiancé’s face. It was only on Valentine’s Day last year that she posted a picture of them together on social media and made the news official.

Multi-millionaire George Panayiotou is the son of British property developer Andreas Panayiotou, the founder of the Ability Group. The Panayiotous own a chain of luxury hotels that include names like Hilton, Double Tree, Park Plaza and others.

Amy Jackson was last seen in 2.0, Shankar-Rajini’s sequel to the 2010 movie Enthiran. Amy, a British model and actress, began her acting career in India with the 2011 Tamil movie Madraspattinam, in which she played the role of a British woman during the pre-Independence era. She has also acted in a few Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films and had won the most promising newcomer award in 2012 for her Hindi film Ekk Deewana Tha, a remake of the Tamil Gautham Menon directorial Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. She also recently starred in her first Hollywood role as Imra Ardeen in Supergirl.
