'Ammu' Abhirami, who was last seen in the Dhanush starrer Asuran, has updated details about her next film. The actor is successfully juggling her career between the Tamil and Telugu film industries and has confirmed that her next will be a Telugu film.

She wrote on her social media page: “#Tollywood. After #Rakshasadu my next Telugu movie Pooja happened today at Hyderabad, Really excited to do the lead role in this upcoming wonderful movie, Details will be updated soon by the production house.”

While more details about this project are expected to be out soon, 'Ammu' Abhirami will be seen playing a role in the upcoming Jyothika and Karthi starrer. Titled Donga in Telugu and Thambi in Tamil, the film will have Jyothika and Karthi playing the main leads as sister and brother.

Jeethu Joseph is directing this family entertainer. It was confirmed that veteran actor Sathyaraj has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the film, and later that Ammu Abhirami made it to the star cast by bagging a role besides Malayalam actor Anson Paul.

The filmmakers then made a new addition to the star cast by roping in Nikhila Vimal C. The technical crew of this film comprises Govind Vasantha for music and RD Rajasekar for cinematography. The film is jointly bankrolled by Viacom 18 and Parallel Minds Productions. Sources in the know say that this film is likely to make it to silver screens soon but the date has not been fixed yet.

The young talent Abhirami made her acting debut in the H Vinoth directorial Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. She shot fame with Vishnu Vishal's psychological thriller Ratsasan directed by Ram Kumar.

She played the role of Vishnu Vishal's niece - Ammu - in the film. It was the success of this movie which gave her the name 'Ammu' Abhirami. Later Abhirami herself was signed on to reprise her role in the Telugu version too titled Rakshasudu starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas and directed by Ramesh Varma.
