Amala Paul missing from ‘VIP 2’ promos? Here's the reason

While Dhanush and the rest of the VIP 2 team were busy promoting the film, Amala Paul, the female lead in it, was conspicuous by her absence. When enquired about it, sources close to the film unit said that she is busy with other acting assignments which did not permit her to join the promos. Amala Paul, who was seen as Dhanush’s wife in Velai Illa Pattadhari 2, is busy with a number of Tamil and Malayalam films that need her attention, add sources.

The actor made her debut in the Kannada film industry with the Sudeep starrer Hebbuli last year. Amala Paul has said that she is looking forward to carve a niche for herself in Tollywood as well. She was seen playing the female lead in some Telugu films earlier including Bejawada, Love Failure, and Iddarammayilatho and is looking for the right opportunity now.

VIP 2, directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, starred Dhanush as the hero with the Bollywood actor Kajol Devgn playing a pivotal role. The star cast also includes Ritu Varma, Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan. Sean Rolden has composed the tunes for this film with Sameer Thahir cranking the camera and  Prasanna GK editing it. VIP 2 has been produced jointly by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Kalaipuli S Dhanu’s V Creations.

Released on August 11 amidst a lot of speculations, the film was made on a budget of Rs 8 crore and has collected Rs. 18 crore so far. It may be mentioned that there are talks about Dhanush turning VIP into a franchise and details about the third instalment are expected to be out soon.
