Actor Amala Paul, who has worked across all the industries in south, has now set her eyes on Bollywood. The Mynaa star will be paired with Arjun Rampal in her Bollywood debut film, which will be directed by Naresh Malhotra.

“Naresh had seen some of my work in Tamil and approached me for the project. I met him for a narration and was excited. There was no audition and the role was tailor-made for me,” Amala was quoted in a report on Manorama Online.

According to the report, the regular shooting of the project will commence from October in the Himalayas. Amala has also said that this is not the first Bollywood offer that has come her way. Apparently, she’s been getting Bollywood offers for quite some time now. She revealed that she once rejected a Hindi project because it featured a bikini scene.

She added that she turned down several offers in Bollywood because most of the roles wouldn’t suit her. Last seen playing a pivotal role in Arvind Swami’s Bhaskar Oru Rascal, Amala earlier this year bagged a plum role in Prithviraj’s highly anticipated Aadujeevitham. On signing the project, Amala took to Twitter to share the news. “Happy and honoured to be part of Blessy’s Aadujeevitham as Sainu, which is set to be a visual spectacle in 3D along with Prithviraj, legend AR Rahman, Resul Pookutty and KU Mohanan. This gathering of master is going to make waves in world cinema.”

According to director Blessy, it’s going to be the most challenging role in Amala’s career. In an interview, he also said that Malayalam filmdom is yet to fully realise Amala’s potential.
