Amala Paul and Asif Ali have been roped in to play the lead pair in the upcoming Malayalam film Parannu Parannu. To be directed by Sugeeth, this will be a romantic comedy entertainer.

Besides Amala Paul, Parannu Parannu will have two more heroines whose names are yet to be revealed. According to Sugeeth, the film will be shot entirely in Dubai barring two important scenes, which will be shot in Kerala.

The groundwork for this project is on and the shooting is expected to commence later this year. Being a rom-com, its makers are aiming for a Valentine’s Day release next year.

Asif and Amala have earlier worked together for the film Ithu Nammude Katha.

Amala’s last film release was Ratsasan in Tamil. It was a psychological-thriller that had Vishnu Vishal and Amala as the lead pair. Her next film in the pipeline will be directed by Anoop Panicker. Titled Cadaver, this Malayalam film will be scripted by Abhilash Pillai. Amala will be seen as a forensic expert.

She is also acting in another Malayalam film – Aadujeevitham. The film is based on the novel of the same title written by Benyamin. The story revolves around a migrant worker from India who has a slave-like existence in a Gulf country, where he goes in search of a job and ends up as a goat herd living in the poorest of conditions. Actor Prithviraj plays the lead character in the film that’s directed by Blessy. It is being bankrolled by K. G. Abraham under the banner KGA Films.

The film will also witness the comeback of Oscar winning musician AR Rahman to Malayalam. On his music composition for the film, the musician himself had reportedly told that he has completed setting the tunes for two songs, one of which has been rendered by singer Chinmayi.
