An interesting report about the historical, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham has been circulating on social media for quite some time now. While there is no confirmation on it yet, we hear that popular editor and director Alphonse Puthren is part of the project.

Sources say that Priyadarshan may rope in Alphonse Puthren to cut the trailer of this film. To know if this is indeed true, we need to wait for an official word from the makers. Interestingly, Priyadarshan had Alphonse Puthren do the trailer cut for Oppam earlier, which turned out to be a massive hit.

Recently, a sneak peek from Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham was showcased at the Aasheervadathode Lalettan event in Kochi, which had the viewers in awe and wanting for more. This had triggered a positive buzz about the film.

Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham has Mohanlal playing the title role and his son Pranav making a cameo appearance. This historical has Ashok Selvan, Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Mukesh and Keerthy Suresh in the star cast appearing in important roles. 

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is based on the true-life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, who was the most popular of the Marakkars. The film is directed by Priyadarshan and is produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment on a very high budget. Reports are that it is one of the costliest films to be made in Mollywood till date.

Cinematographer Tirru is cranking the camera for this venture. The shooting of this magnum opus has been completed already but its post-production will take around six months due to a large amount of VFX involved. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is set for release next year.
