Five more accused arrested in connection with the murder of RSS man E Rajesh in Sreekaryam of Thiruvananthapuram, were remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday.

Among the 11 accused in the case, six were already remanded by the court on Monday.

Among the other five accused who were remanded later, two of them, Vipin (27) and Siby (22), were directly involved in the crime, while Moni (25), Ratheesh alias Bhai (32) and Vishnu Mohan (26) were involved in the conspiracy.

Police will seek custody of the accused on Wednesday.

In the case, police arrested all the 11 accused within three days of the crime.

The state police chief even announced a cash award for all the officers who were involved in the investigation.

Though there were many speculations that Rajesh’s death was out of personal vengeance, the FIR registered revealed that it was a political murder.

While the FIR doesn’t mention which political outfit each of the accused belonged to, it clearly mentions that the murder was a result of longstanding BJP-DYFI clashes which had happened earlier.

The FIR also mentions 11 accused in the case out of which, six were directly involved in the assault and murder, while five others were involved in the conspiracy.

Rajesh, 34, was killed by the group which reached the spot, on bikes and auto rickshaws.

His left hand was chopped off from the elbow and his body was dumped in an empty plot nearby.

He also had several injury marks on his face
