Actor Ajith, who was last seen playing an Interpol agent in Vivegam, will be next seen in a full-length rural avatar in Viswasam, which marks his fourth-time collaboration with director Siva. With reports doing rounds that the film will hit the screen worldwide for Pongal 2019, on Saturday, cinematographer Vetri took to Twitter to announce that the shooting of Viswasam has been wrapped up.

Following the debacle of Vivegam, Ajith has pinned high hopes on Viswasam, which was officially launched earlier this year. The project was supposed to go on the floors in March; however, it had to be postponed due to the Kollywood strike, courtesy a stand-off between Tamil Film Producers Council and Digital Service Providers.

The shooting of Viswasam finally went on the floors in early May and the makers have successfully wrapped up the project as planned in five months. Viswasam features Ajith in dual avatars - in salt-and-pepper and fully dyed black. Both the looks feature Ajith twirling his moustache. While there are rumors that Ajith plays dual roles in the film, sources close to the team have clarified that he merely appears in two different looks.

One of the highlights of the film, according to the industry grapevine, will be Ajith riding a Bullet bike throughout the film. In fact, the second poster of the film features Ajith riding a Bullet. Director Siva felt the audience would enjoy seeing Ajith riding a Bullet and hence decided to include it in the film, which has been bankrolled by Satyajothi Films.

The film also features Nayanthara as the leading lady. Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiah and Kovai Sarala are also part of the supporting cast. In a first time collaboration, D Imman has been finalised to compose music. He recently revealed that he’s thrilled to be part of the project.
