The shooting of Thala Ajith's highly-anticipated Valimai has apparently begun in Hyderabad. Directed by H Vinoth who had teamed up with Ajith for courtroom drama Nerkonda Paarvai, are reuniting for another project which is also be bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. During this schedule, the makers would be filming a couple of fight sequences as well as a couple of chase sequences, for which they have erected a huge set.

Recently reports surfaced that Keerthy Suresh has been signed as the leading lady. Now the latest reports suggest that the makers are in talks with Bollywood heroine Ileana D'cruz to play Ajith's lead pair. Talks have been initiated with the actor and she is yet to sign on the dotted lines.

The genre of the film is still unknown; however, reports have emerged that Ajith will be seen playing a cop after a long time. Revealing more details about the film, producer Boney Kapoor on Sunday said, at a recent award function "Valimai shoot will begin on December 13. Ajith plays a cop. It will be a Diwali 2020 release." According to the grapevine, the film will be shot in exotic locations like South Africa, Budapest and parts of the Middle East. Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose music for the project while Nirav Shah will crank the camera.

While there were also reports that Nazriya Nazim is believed to be making a comeback to Tamil cinema with this film. Refuting the rumors, Nazriya tweeted saying ,"Kindly Request To my friends its not officially confirmed that um to play a role in #Valimai its all just rumors.. So do please stay away from fake news.. Stay tuned for official confirmation from @SureshChandraa @DoneChannel1 @BoneyKapoor.’’

Ajith's recent release was Nerkonda Paarvai, the official Tamil remake of Bollywood film Pink, which featured him in the role of a criminal lawyer. While Shraddha reprised Taapsee’s role from the original. The film, which marked the Tamil debut of Vidya Balan in a crucial role, also stars Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Tariang, Rangaraj Pandey, Adhik Ravichandran, Arjun Chidambaram, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar.
