Post the massive success of his recent release Viswasam, Ajith has recently wrapped up shooting for his next film titled Nerkonda Paarvai. This is the official Tamil remake of the Hindi superhit Pink and is directed by H Vinoth of Theeran Adhigaram Ondru fame.

The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who reunites with Ajith after Aarrambam. It was widely rumoured that  Ajith will be crooning a song in the film. It was said Ajith might croon a motivational track which was similar to the original crooned by Amitabh. Rubbishing the rumours, Yuvan said in a recent interview with Behindwoods that there is nothing planned as such.

The film was wrapped up in just three months and it features Ajith in the role of a criminal lawyer while Shraddha reprises Taapsee’s role from the original. The film is all set to hit the screens on August 10, and it was recently reported that the film might have a release in China later this year after its Indian theatrical release. According to reliable sources, the film will most likely release in China in November or December. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the China release.

Bankrolled by Boney Kapoor, the project marks the foray of the producer into Tamil filmdom. After watching the rushes of the film, Boney Kapoor heaped praise on Ajith. He also expressed his desire to produce a film with Ajith in Bollywood and he has three action scripts. Taking to Twitter he posted,"Saw the rushes of #NerkondaPaaravai. Happy... What a performance by Ajith.... I hope he agrees to do Hindi films soon. Have 3 action scripts, hope he says yes to atleast one of them. #NerkondaPaaravai #Ajithkumar."

The film, which marks the Tamil debut of Vidya Balan in a crucial role, also stars Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Tariang and Abhirami Venkatachalam. Bollywood actor Kalki Koechlin will make her debut with Nerkonda Paarvai. The actor will be seen in a special dance sequence that will have rap portions by a popular Malaysian rapper.
