Ajith starrer Viswasam was out as a Pongal release earlier this year clashing with another biggie, Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta and was declared a blockbuster hit.

The film's satellite rights were bagged by Sun TV even before its release for a whopping amount and had its world TV premiere was on May 1 to coincide with Ajith's birthday. The film broke quite a few TRP records.

Viswasam recorded a TRP of 23.8 and viewership of 1,81,43,000 impressions racing ahead of all other recent Television premiers and creating a record. The makers took to Twitter to officially announce the same.

Viswasam has achieved a new record on the small screens as well. The film has set behind Rajinikanth's Petta, Vijay's Sarkar and Prabhas' Baahubali to get the highest TRP for a south Indian film. SS Rajamouli's multilingual magnum opus garnered 1,70,70,000 impressions while Thalapathy's Sarkar earned 1,69,06,000 impressions.

Viswasam was the fourth time collaboration between director Siva and Ajith after Vedhalam, Veeram and Vivegam. The star cast includes Vivek, Robo Shankar, Thambi Ramaiah, Kovai Sarala, Sandhya Janak, Yogi Babu, Kalairani, Bose Venkat, Sujatha Sivakumar, Ramesh Thilak, Jangiri Madhumitha and Namo Narayana.

With a bevy of comedy actors in the star cast, the film had its funny moments. D Imman was the music composer of Viswasam and the other core technical crew included Vetri for camera work and editing by Ruben.

The film was produced by TG Thiyagarajan, Sendhil Thiyagarajan and Arjun Thiyagarajan under the banner Sathya Jyothi Films, who had bankrolled Ajith-Siva's last outing Vivegam.

The film is set to be remade in Kannada with Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar wanting to reprise the role in the remake. While the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised, the principal shooting for the film might commence in November or December this year.
