After impressing fans and critics alike with a noteworthy performance as a cricketer in Kanaa, Aishwarya Rajesh is all set to play a wrestler in her second Telugu film. Being directed by NV Nirmal Kumar, the film will see Aishwarya as a village woman who belongs to a family of wrestlers.

Aishwarya, who recently signed her maiden Telugu film opposite Vijay Deverakonda, has already commenced shooting for this project which will be predominantly shot against the backdrop of Rajahmundry and Hyderabad. Uday Shankar plays the leading man.

According to a report by Cinema Express, the film will be a family entertainer with wrestling as the backdrop. “Aishwarya plays a village character, who belongs to a family of professional wrestlers, in the film.  She is very tomboyish and loves the thrills of wrestling. The story is all about how she fulfills the dream of her family by winning a gold medal at an international wrestling tournament,” a source from the team was quoted.

The film is being produced by Adhiroh Creative Signs and also stars Pradeep Rawat and Sanjay Swaroop.

The makers have recently wrapped up filming the interval block at Alampur Jogulamba temple and the next schedule will commence soon. Aishwarya has an interesting lineup of projects.

It was recently announced that she is all set to join hands with director Suseenthiran for a project tiled Magalir Ani, which is rumoured to be a heroine-centric film.

Aishwarya's latest release Kanaa hit the silver screens on December 21 last year to positive reviews. It is a sport drama which is about women’s cricket that was well received by the movie buffs. It was bankrolled by Actor Siva Karthikeyan and helmed by Arunraja Kamaraj.

Aishwarya Rajesh, who made her debut with the 2010 release Neethana Avan, has acted in a number of hit Tamil movies such as Attakathi, Rummy, Pannaiyarum Padminiyum and Kaaka Muttai.
