Aishwarya Lekshmi, best known for her work in Malayalam films such as Mayanadhi, in which she starred with Tovino Thomas and Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela with Nivin Pauly, is all set for her Tamil debut in a yet-untitled project featuring Vishal. To be directed by Sundar C, the film will also feature Tamannaah Bhatia as one of the leading ladies.

Both Tamannaah and Aishwarya are said to have equal screen space in the film, which is tipped to be a romantic actioner. This is the second project Sundar C has signed in a span of weeks after being signed to direct the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi.

Speaking to TOI, Aishwarya said: “I play a lovable, family-girl type of role in the film. I’ve been waiting for a sweet role like this to debut in Tamil, and I’m glad to be debuting with Sundar C sir’s film. We start shooting from January 2019.”

In the interim, Sundar will complete the shooting for the Attarintiki Daredi remake with Simbu and Megha Akash in the lead roles. Sundar is busy finalising the rest of the cast and crew. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the remake, which is gearing up for release early next year.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya currently awaits the release of her upcoming Malayalam film Varathan, in which she’s paired with Fahadh Faasil. The teaser of the film that was unveiled recently has created the right impact among movie buffs. The film is bankrolled by Fahadh’s wife Nazriya Nazim under her banner Nazriya Nazim Productions in association with Amal Neerad’s Amal Neerad Productions. After the teaser, a new poster of the film, featuring the lead pair Fahadh and Aishwarya, is going viral.

Aishwarya now joins the long list of Malayalam actors such as Asin, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh and Sai Pallavi among others who have made a strong mark in Kollywood.
