After working with Rajinikanth in Petta, Karthik Subbaraj is all set to finally begin work with Dhanush on his next. The yet untitled project, to be produced by Y Not Studios, is dubbed YNOT18. Also starring Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead, according to a release from the makers, the film will be a gangster thriller filmed entirely in the United Kingdom.

While the film will go on the floors from next month, the title, cast members and other details will be announced soon.

Produced by S Sashikanth and co-produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra, the film’s music will be composed by Santhosh Narayanan. While cinematography will be handled by Shreyaas Krishna, the film will be edited by Vivek Harshan.

According to reports, the pre-production work for this project was completed a long time ago but the project couldn’t take off as the makers wanted to rope in Hollywood star Al Pacino for a pivotal role in the film. Since they couldn’t get his dates when they approached him for the first time, the project was put on the back burner, and both Dhanush and Subbaraj moved on to their other commitments.

Dhanush, who is awaiting the release of Asuran with Vetrimaaran, also has the long delayed Enai Nokki Payum Thotta with Gautham Menon. Asuran is based on writer Poomani’s novel Vekkai.

The actor also has three other projects lined up, one with director Mari Selvaraj who made Pariyerum Perumal last year, another with director Ram Kumar who thrilled audiences with Raatsasan last year and another with director Durai Senthil Kumar. In addition to all this, he also has Vada Chennai 2 with Vetrimaaran. In both Asuran and Durai Senthil Kumar’s film, Dhanush will be playing dual roles.

Dhanush was last seen in the Hollywood film, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, which hit the screens last month.
