The Sunanda Pushkar murder probe has taken another turn with the Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Dr. MC Mishra moving the Delhi High Court to sack the head of the Forensics Department Dr. Sudhir Gupta.According to a Zee News report, Dr. Gupta has reacted to the issue, saying that “AIIMS Director Dr MC Mishra has filed affidavit to appoint some other faculty member as head of dept. in my place but I don’t think there is approval of Secretary and Union Health Minister.”Dr. Gupta hit headlines last year after claiming that there was pressure on him to manipulate the post-mortem report of Sunanda Pushkar, the late wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.Gupta had been quizzed by the special investigation team probing Puskhar’s death in January.The doctor has been known for his involvement in several high-profile cases like Jessica Lal, Nitish Katara, the case of Nido Tania and Pushkar.
