The News Minute | April 23, 2014 | 01:48 pm IST The DMK today sent a formal complaint to the Election Commission alleging that the ruling AIADMK has been engaging in large scale distribution of cash and gift items to voters in a bid to woo them. They also said that the party is making use of official machinery and violating prohibitory orders in order to carry on with their activities. The DMK mentioned in their complaint that in spite of complaining to the police and election officers, no action was taken against the responsible AAIDMK agents. That the police was supporting their actions was also implied.Stalin later told the media that AIADMK was giving each voter Rs 3000. He also said that the Chief Electoral Officer was not taking necessary action needed against AIADMK and that his party would approach the Madras High Court. The party also feels that the Election Commission might be behaving in a biased manner.The DMK alleges that the AIADMK is not confident of winning this time and is resorting to anything and everything that might tilt the scales on their side.
