Actor-filmmaker Sundar C has been left in a spot, while trying to find a suitable hero for his mega-budget historical project, Sanghamitra.
Initial reports suggested that he was interested in roping in Suriya and when the offer was turned down, he went to Vijay. Unfortunately, the result wasn’t any different. While Suriya wasn’t interested in the project, Vijay couldn’t afford to spend over a year especially after the debacle of Puli.
Unfazed by the response he has received so far, Sundar C is said to have approached Jayam Ravi with the offer and the star has expressed interest. Having already given an in-principal nod, Ravi is facing difficulty setting aside bulk dates as he already has three films lined up in his kitty. However, Sundar C is ready to wait as he’s really excited to be making the film with the Thani Oruvan star.
Tipped to be made on a budget of Rs 350 crore along the lines of Baahubali and Magadheera, Sundar has already locked his technical crew. AR Rahman will compose the tunes, RC Kamalakannan will take care of the visual effects department and Sudeep Chatterjee will crank the camera. National Award winning art director Sabu Cyril will look after the art direction.
