An advocate practicing at a Hyderabad civil court on Monday tried to immolate himself, as a protest following the suspension of two Telangana judges by the High Court for an agitation against provisional allocation of judicial officers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The New Indian Express reported:

Tirumal Rao, an advocate, attempted self immolation by dousing himself in kerosene and setting ablaze at the main corridor of the city civil court, Nampally while participating in the protest. He is undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of a private hospital in the city.

The court on Monday suspended Telangana Judges Association President K Ravinder Reddy, who is the 4th additional metropolitan sessions judge, and its secretary V Vara Prasad, a special sessions judge of Rangareddy district.
