Even as chief minister Siddaramiah returned the controversial watch to the Speaker, he seems to get no respite from the controversy over his branded watch.
On Saturday former chief minister and national vice president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) BS Yeddyurappa said in Mysuru: “He has admitted his wrong doing and has given the watch to the house. He does not have proper documentation for the watch.”
Further attacking Siddaramaiah, Yeddyurappa said, “Fifty percent of the ministers and MLAs, and the high command is against you. Make allegations (against us) after you sort it out.”
On Friday, members of Bharatiya Janata Party from Karnataka protested in front of Gandhi statue demanding a CBI enquiry in the case.
“We are demanding a CBI enquiry because lot of loopholes are there. According to us that is a smuggled watch. He has returned that watch to the speaker but it doesn't mean that he is a clean man,” Yeddyurappa said.
