US President-elect Donald Trump has rubbished allegations in a recent dossier which claimed that the Russian government has been “supporting and assisting” him for years and has gained compromising information about him.
The dossier contains lurid details of graphic sexual acts and includes unverified details of communication between Trump aides and Russian operatives, reports BuzzFeed News.
The various claims in the dossier have not been verified or falsified by BuzzFeed reporters in the US and Europe, the report says.
A two-page synopsis of the report has been presented to President Obama and Trump.
The document was reportedly prepared by a former British intelligence agent on the behest of political opponents of Trump.
Besides being unverified, the document contains some glaring errors, the report points out. For instance, the name of one company “Alpha Group” which should actually be “Alfa Group” is misspelled throughout.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper issued a statement on his conversation with Donald Trump in which they both agreed that the leaks are “extremely corrosive and damaging to our national security”.

The president-elect’s attorney Michael Cohen said, “It’s so ridiculous on so many levels. Clearly, the person who created this did so from their imagination or did so hoping that the liberal media would run with this fake story for whatever rationale they might have.”
