The upcoming Malayalam film Jack n Jill went on to the floors in October last year and is progressing well. The film has Kalidas Jayaram in the lead with Manju Warrier playing a pivotal role. The latest buzz was that Aditi Balan of Aruvi fame will be seen in an important role in the film. But refuting the rumours, Aditi in an Interview to Cinemaexpress said, "I haven't even been approached for that project. I'm yet to sign my next film and I'm still on the lookout for a good script."

Aruvi was critically acclaimed and won the actor several awards and accolades for her performance. This social political drama was produced by S.R. Prabhu and S.R. Prakashbabu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures on a budget of Rs. 1 crore and it went on to collect Rs. 35 crore at the box office. It may be noted that Aditi Balan’s debut in the film industry was with the Ajith starrer Yennai Arindhaal in which she did an uncredited role.

Jack n Jill, directed by veteran director and cinematographer, Santosh Sivam, is touted to be a thriller. The film’s star cast also includes Soubin Shahir, Nedumudi Venu, Aju Varghese, Soubin Shahir, Basil Joseph, Ramesh Pisharody and Suraj Venjaramoodu in supporting roles. Sources in the know say that Jack n Jill will be a bilingual releasing in Malayalam and Tamil.

The film is bankrolled by the Dubai based company, Lensman Studios. Its technical crew comprises debut music director Ram Surendar with BK Harinarayanan penning the lyrics. Santosh Sivan is cranking the camera for this venture with Renjith roped in for editing.

It may be noted that Santosh Sivan is wielding the megaphone after five long years and this is the first time he is directing a thriller in his long career. His last outing as a director was with Inam, set during the civil war in Sri Lanka. The film was about a group of teenagers in an orphanage.
