Popular Kannada actor Sruthi Hariharan has posted a photo of her baby bump on Instagram, sharing the news of her pregnancy. Posting a blurred image of herself dressed in black, standing against a blue wall, the actor wrote, “To actually feel life beating within you .... to know that this is the beginning of a whole new journey… and to finally acknowledge that clarity is over rated and sometimes it's all about the blur - brings us to this point. Welcome to the circus little peanut. We can't wait to see you.”

Congratulations came pouring in for the actor soon after the post was shared online.

Sruthi had for long kept her personal life away from the spotlight, refusing to go into details about her marriage with actor-dancer Raam Kumar.

Sruthi was last seen in Nathicharami, a film that follows a young Bengalurean widow Gowri's complicated and wrenching quest to fulfill her sex drive after the death of her beloved husband, Mahesh. The film was shortlisted for the Oxfam Prize for Gender Equality at the MAMI film festival in 2018.

While the actor has three Kannada films in the making this year, Mane Maratakide, Aadhya and Tesla, she revealed in an interview with TNM last year that soon after she raised her voice in support of the #MeToo movement, sharing her own personal account of workplace sexual harassment by a co-star, her work opportunities started to dwindle.

The actor had accused Arjun Sarja of sexual harassment on the sets of the Tamil film Nibunan, which released in Kannada as Vismaya.

The actor has so far received Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress - Kannada in 2016 for Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress, SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) (Critics) Kannada and Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Kannada the very next year for Beautiful Manasugalu.
