Actor Ram Charan has admitted that his film Vinaya Vidheya Rama, which was panned by the audience and critics alike, did not meet 'expectations'.

The actor through a press note wrote, "We worked really hard to deliver a film which would entertain all of you. Unfortunately, the vision could not get translated properly on screen and we could not meet your expectations."

Assuring his fans that he will make better films, the actor said, "Your immense love and adoration has and always pushed me to work harder and deliver better films which meet your expectations."

Vinaya Vidheya Rama, directed by Boyapati Srinivas, which released on Sankranti came under harsh criticism and ridicule for the film's over-the-top action scenes and violence. Scenes of the same were shared on social media hours after its release, and the film was heavily trolled. The trolling was so immense that the producer later decided to edit out the bizarre action scenes.

Sample this: In one scene, when a venomous snake bites the villain played by Vivek Oberoi, the snake dies instead.

Apart from the mindless action scenes, the film was also criticised for the female actor's portrayal. The director subjects the heroine, played by Kiara Advani, to the male gaze acutely.

The film had actors like Sneha, Vivek Oberoi, Prashanth, Mukesh Rishi, Mahesh Manjrekar and others. Music for the film was by Devi Sri Prasad. DVV Dhanayya produced the film under his banner  Dhanayya Entertainments.

Following the failure of Vinaya Vidheya Rama, Boyapati hasn’t announced his next film. Similarly, there has been no announcement on Ram Charan’s next.

Ram Charan is presently focussing on the release of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, produced by him under his home banner Konidela Productions. The film stars his father, megastar Chiranjeevi and Nayantara. The film also has Amitabh Bachchan and Vijay Sethupathi.
