Actor Nakkhul, who was recently seen in the film Sei, tweeted on Monday that he has allegedly been duped by online shopping portal Flipkart when he received a fake iPhone XS MAX from them.
His tweet that reads, “I RECIEVED A FAKE IPHONE BY ORDERING THROUGH FLIPKART… Getting cheated on is one thing, but not giving a guarantee that it’ll be solved is an other (sic)” was accompanied by photos that shows a damaged product. He further alleges that Flipkart’s response has been very unsatisfactory and that the seller is yet to replace the phone. The actor called it a “very bitter and terrible experience.”
Sharing that the phone was a third-year anniversary gift to his wife, Nakkhul details that upon opening the box he was shocked to see that the phone’s screen had air bubbles underneath its guard and that it looks “Absolutely plastic and fake”. “The phone’s software isn’t iOS either with android apps mixed along with it,” he wrote.

When Nakkhul reached out to Flipkart immediately, he was directed to deal with it at the nearest Apple store. “After a lot of hustle they confirmed that a person would come collect the phone the very next day and that I would be given a refund immediately. No one came forward to collect the package and they later mailed me saying it’ll take about 12 days,” he wrote in the post.
Nakkhul also expressed disappointment that those at Flipkart were not “readily reachable”. Flipkart responded to Nakkhul’s tweet soon after, requesting him to share further details.

Nakkhul who made his acting debut in Shankar’s Boys in 2003 alongside Siddharth, Thaman, Bharath and Genelia is the brother of popular actor Devayani.
Following Boys, Nakul did a brief stint as a singer, crooning for music directors like Harris Jeyaraj, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Thaman.
Nakkhul rose to fame with his role in Kadhalil Vizhunthen in 2008 starring alongside Sunaina. The two are reuniting almost nine years later for Eriyum Kannadi which will be directed by Sachin Dev.
