After completing shooting his portion, Kathir took to Twitter on Tuesday, and in an emotional note wrote, “This photo speaks what my heart wants to speak!! Completed shooting for #BIGIL ! Ur hug gave me an emotional happiness n unconditional love.” (sic).

There are rumours that he plays Vijay’s brother in the film but we have to take this report with a pinch of salt as nothing has been made official yet about the actors and their roles.
The makers have already released their first single ‘Singa Penney’ which has become an instant hit. The song marks Rahman's fourth such voiced song for a Vijay film following “Ellapugazhum Iraivan Iraivanukke” (Azhagiya Tamil Magan), “Neethanae” (Mersal) and “Oru Viral Puratchi” (Sarkar).
Meanwhile, piracy issues have been bothering the film makers, their second single “Verithanam” too got leaked online, after which the makers, AGS Entertainment took down most of the pirated links.
Bigil has Nayanthara playing the female lead. From the first look, it appears that the film is a sports-drama. Going by the posters it is confirmed Vijay will be seen in the dual avatar and the film will have Vijay playing a football coach. Sources in the know say that around 16 debutants have been roped in to play football players in this flick.
The film will hit have a festival release, apparently for Diwali this year. According to reports the pre-release business of the film will touch a benchmark price of Rs.220 crores. Recently, Popular Tamil distributor and producer Screen Scene entertainments acquired the Tamil theatrical rights of the film for a whopping price and the overseas rights of the film have been bagged by United India Exporters and X Gen Studio have jointly the for a whopping price.
Bigil also has Daniel Balaji, Yogi Babu, Sai Dheena, Vivek, Anandraj and others. GK Vishnu is the cinematographer for the film while Anthony L Ruben will be the editing.
