Annoyed by media speculation about his relationship with fellow actor Kavya Madhavan and their rumoured wedding, Dileep has lashed out against Filmibeat, an entertainment website, for dragging his daughter’s name into the controversy.

Dileep took to Facebook to express his anger on Thursday.

He posted a status titled “Shameless headline journalism” and came down heavily on the website, warning "frauds disguised as journalists" not to propagate false news on his daughter's name.

The actor’s ire was directed at an article published under the headline "Kavya-Dileep wedding: Family clears the air on news", which stated that Dileep’s daughter, Meenakshi, had threatened to leave the house if the actor gets married to Kavya Madhavan, post his divorce with actor Manju Warrier.

“What does this dullard know of my relationship with my daughter? She has gone through a lot at such a young age. That explains her level of maturity too. People like you do not even have the right to take my daughter’s name,” Dileep wrote.

The divorce of the star couple, Dileep and Manju Warrier, in 2011 had not only been a shock to the Malayali audience, but had also ignited rumours about Dileep and Kavya Madhavan's alleged relationship.

Many media outlets even drew the conclusion that Kavya was the reason for the star couple to divorce after 16 years of marriage.

Their daughter Meenakshi had then chosen to stay with Dileep.

After Dileep and Kavya gave an interview to “Vanitha” magazine recently, the speculations about their relationship has gained momentum once again.

Dileep said that he was aware of certain people deliberately propagating negative news ahead of the release of his upcoming movie.

“My life is an open book. In case I decide to marry anyone, that will be done only after informing the public about it. This is for all the people who are eager to get me married,” Dileep said.
